Mohegan Tribe to hire thousands

AUGUST 7, 2000 The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut plans to hire 3,500 new workers are part of its expansion of the Mohegan Sun casino. Unemployment locally is 2.6 percent. Casinos, like rival Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, tend to offer better benefits packages than local employers. Chairman Roland Harris said they are receiving 600 to 700 applications for employment a month. Get the Story:
