FRIDAY, AUGUST 3, 2001 The Connecticut town of North Stonington is reviewing a proposal by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to open a golf course and resort on a piece of tribally-owned land. The tribe wants to open an 18-hole golf course and resort on 912 acres of land around the Lake of Isles. The tribe had previously asked the federal government to take the property around the lake into trust but the town and two others filed a lawsuit. Get the Story:
