FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2001 The Confederated Colville Tribes on Thursday signed an agreement with the state of Washington to take over welfare assistance for all tribal members. The tribes will get $6.1 million in welfare funds, to administer to 300 tribal members and others on the reservation. The funds drop to $5.6 million the next year. A new $160,000 services center is being planned. Get the Story:
