FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2001

A coalition of 19 labor unions wants Assembly Majority Leader Paul Tokasz, D-Buffalo, to oppose a gaming compact New York Governor George Pataki has proposed with the Seneca Nation.

The unions want the compact to allow organized labor at casinos. Democrats in the Assembly are already holding up the deal due to labor issues.
