Tribes help defeat Internet gaming bill

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29, 2001 California tribes and their lobbyists helped defeat a bill that would have banned online gaming in the state. The Senate Governmental Organization Committee tabled the bill for the year. Tribes said they want to keep their options open to enter the growing and lucrative online market. Get the Story:
