AUGUST 1, 2000 Reknowned author Louise Erdrich has opened a store in Minneapolis, Minnesota, selling books, herbs, and art. The author of several books herself, Erdrich says her bookstores doesn't "ghettoize" Native authors. The revenues from the sale of herbs goes to Peta Wakan Tipi, an alcohol recovery program.
