Poll: Arizonans like Indian casinos

TUESDAY, JULY 31, 2001 A poll released on Monday suggests that more Arizona voters support tribal casinos than the race tracks who want Indian gaming shut down in the state. According to a poll of 702 adults, 7 out of 10 would vote against an anti-Indian casino Governor. Just 6 out of 10 would vote for an anti-race track leader. A federal judge has ordered Governor Jane Hull stop negotiating with tribes to finalize new gaming compacts. Only the Legislature has that power, said the judge. Get the Story:
