JULY 28, 2000

The competition for a casino in the Catskill is crowded as ever, with the recent acknowledgement of interest in a casino in New York by the company who helped the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut open their casino.

Trading Cove Associates is meeting with the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, a Wisconsin tribe, to discuss a potential casino in New York. The tribe owns land in the state, their traditional homeland.

Park Place Entertainment, Catskills Development Corp, the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York, the Cayuga Nation of New York, and the Mohegan Tribe, are all key and potential players in a casino in the Catskills.
