WEDNESDAY, JULY 18, 2001

The Blackfeet Reservation in Montana is now home to the nation's first off-shore bank, Glacier International Depository Ltd.

The bank is the direct result of a Blackfeet tribal law which authorizes the charter of foreign depositories. The tribe passed the law after the state of Montana approved a similar one.

Foreigners can use the bank to keep their assets secret.
