Oneida Nation Mexico sign deal

The Oneida Nation of New York and the governor of the Mexican state of Morelos on Thursday signed an agreement promising to collaborate on a number of economic and cultural ventures.

The tribe in recent months has been meeting with Mexican leaders about a number of economic development projects, including a potential casino or two. Gambling is illegal in Mexico but lawmakers are considering a bill to allow casinos in resort areas.
