JUNE 20, 2000 If the Yakama Nation of Washington forms a new utility company, about 12,000 customers on the reservation could benefit from cheaper electricity. The tribe is in planning on buying power from the Bonneville Power Administration and has five years to set up its own company. Rusty Jones, a non-Indian resident says he opposes the plan because he believe the tribe will charge non-Indians differently. Preston Harrison, from the tribe's economic development office said everyone will be charged the same rate. Get the Story:
