Pequot Tribe pushes golf course

JUNE 15, 2001 The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal of Connecticut Nation are pushing plans to open a golf course and resort in North Stonington. The tribe's developers dicussed plans for the course at a public hearing on Thursday. The resort would be located on a $5.5 million parcel of land that the tribe once sought to have placed into trust status. The tribe and three neighboring towns, including North Stonington, are currently discussing their disputes over trust land. Get the Story:
