Tribe wins taxation dispute

JUNE 11, 2001 The Idaho Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the state has no authority to tax sales of gasoline to the Coeur d'Alene Tribe. The state wanted to tax gasoline the Goodman Oil Co. sells to the tribe, which the tribe then resells to consumers. But the high court said there was no law which permitted the action. Get the Story:
