Okla. tribe plans gaming complex

APRIL 18, 2001 The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma is planning a 240,000-square-foot gaming complex along a major highway near Oklahoma City. Governor James Edwards said the project will start off with a gaming center, convenience stores, a gift shop, hair salon, a food court, restaurants, and a 100-room hotel. Once those are completed, the tribe will add a 27-hold golf course 300- to 400-room resort hotel. The tribe currently operates a gaming center east of Norman. Get the Story:
