Tribe and city discuss economic future

FEBRUARY 8, 2001 The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and Cathedral City officials will meet today to update one another on their economic development efforts as well as future plans. City officials say the tribe has made a "tremendous" investment there. The tribe will be opening an $80 million casino in April in Rancho Mirage but the city expects to benefit too. The tribe's 52,000-acre reservation include parts of Cathedral City, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Riverside County. Get the Story:
