Ventura opposes state-run casino

FEBRUARY 6, 2001 Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura on Monday told tribal leaders he opposes a state-run casino but not ones which would be operated by private groups. Ventura made the comments during a closed-door meeting with leaders of Minnesota's 11 Indian tribes. Senate Minority Leader Dick Day has proposed the state open and run its own casino. Get the Story:
