FEBRUARY 6, 2001

In what Stonington First Selectman Donald Maranel said will be a "win" for the Connecticut town, a proposal by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to construct an 85,000-square-foot warehouse and office building is up for approval on Wednesday.

Maranel said the building will be a "net addition" to the town's grand list. The grand list is a list of all taxable properties.

The tribe is the largest taxpayer in a number of towns near its southeastern Connecticut reservation.
