Casino supported in spite of Governor

FEBRUARY 23, 2001 Residents of Schullsburg, Wisconsin, on Wednesday voted to support the Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe Tribe host a casino in their city. The tribe, Lafayette County, and the city have said they will continue moving forward with the project even though Governor Scott McCallum told Schullsburg Mayor Dan Morrisse he would not approve a casino there.
