Towns work on slot money plan

FEBRUARY 14, 2001 Towns in southeastern Connecticut are still working on a plan to distribute an estimated $10 million in anticipated slot revenues from two tribal casinos. The Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino are both expanding their operations. An estimated $30 million in slot revenues per year is expected and the the towns want one-third of it to go to towns most impacted by the casinos. They have come up with a number of proposals but the state Legislature's Planning and Development Committee said the have to come to a consensus first. Get the Story:
