City approves tribal development

JANUARY 24, 2001 City councilors on Tuesday unanimously approved a plan that would bring the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation's headquarters to downtown Norwich. The city will take over a $16 million property from the tribe and build an office complex. The tribe will lease the office space and house about 350 to 450 employees there and will also try to market the site for retail purposes. Get the Story:
