DECEMBER 13, 2000

Three Wisconsin Ojibwe tribes and their Florida partner are offering the community of Husdon $3.65 million a year if the city approves their proposed off-reservation casino.

The amount would nearly cover the city's tax levy on the St. Croix Meadows dog track, where the casino would be located. Since the land would be taken into trust for the tribe, it would remove it from tax rolls.
