Nebraska may get gaming amendment

NOVEMBER 29, 2000 Nebraska's four tribes may be able to offer expanded gaming if voters approve a constitutional amendment. Currently, state law prohibits what is known as Class III gaming, meaning slot machines, poker, and other card games. An amendment to the state's constitution would would open the door for tribes to offer these games. State lawmaker DiAnna Schimek said she plans to introduce the measure as soon as the Legislature convenes in January. A previous effort failed. Get the Story:
