Fourth quarter earnings at the Mohegan Sun casino were up 8 percent over last year, reported the tribe. The tribe made $215.4 million on the casino, amounting to a year-end totalof almost $787 million, an increase of 6 percent. The tribe's success has been coupled with last month's debut of a $1 billion expansion. Part of the expansion is a new 19,000-seat indoor sports and concert arena, which was inaugurated with an exhibition game between the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards, featuring out-of-retirement star Michael Jordan. The crowd at the Friday night game eagerly anticipated Jordan's appearance. Even though the Wizards lost 107 to 93, many told the local papers seeing Jordan was well worth it. Get the Story:
