The trial of a New Mexico man accused of murdering a Navajo mother continued on Thursday with graphic descriptions of her death.

Prosecution witnesses said Lee was hit on the head with a sledgehammer a few times. She had multiple skull fractures and brain lacerations.

Lee also was stabbed by an 8-inch knife. She had a wound that went near her heart, said New Mexico's chief medical investigator.

Additional evidence was presented to tie defendant Robert Ray Fry to the scene of the crime. Fry is on trial with Leslie Engh, who is testifying for the prosecution.
