Morongo shooting victim in hospital

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2001 The estranged husband of a Morongo tribal leader is still in the hospital after being shot on his California reservation early Monday morning. John Andreas, 60, was wounded in an apparent gunfight involving his son, John, and another man who has been taken into police custody but not yet charged with any crime. Joshua Andreas, 26, was found dead. Sherman Brown, 20, himself wounded after a brief gunfight with police, could face murder charges for Joshua's death. John Andreas is married to Mary Ann Andreas, the former chairwoman of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. The couple is going through a divorce and Mary Ann was not in the house when her son was killed. Get the Story:
