Voters of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut went to the polls on Sunday, re-electing Richard A. "Skip" Hayward and newcomer John E. Perry II to their seven-member council.

Hayward is known for bringing the tribe out of obscurity to international success. He lost his chairmanship in 1998 to current leader Kenneth Reels.

Perry is chief of the tribe's fire department.

The tribe is facing a return to court over a land-into-trust dispute with three towns.
