WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2001

A group calling itself the Marble Head Oneidas is asking a federal judge to become part of the 250,000-acre Oneida land claim.

The Oneida Nation of New York, the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and the Oneida First Nation of Canada are already parties to the suit. They plan on opposing the addition of the Marble Hills, whom they claim is a political faction and not a separate tribe.

A federal judge will hear arguments about the Marble Head status on December 7.
