WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2001

A Tuesday hearing on liquor violations in Whiteclay was postponed by the Nebraska State Liquor Control due to health problems of the store owner facing charges.

Don Schwarting has previously been found not guilty of selling beer to intoxicated customers. He now faces charges of selling alcohol on credit.

Enforcement of liquor laws in Whiteclay has stepped up after complaints by Oglala Sioux tribal leaders from the nearby Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
