WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2001

A resident of Johnson County, Kansas, on Tuesday filed lawsuit against local commissioners, saying they illegally approved an analysis of a proposed World of Oz theme park.

Phillip Klein says the commissioners violated the state's "open meetings" law. The commissioners disagree.

The Oz project has run into various objections since it was proposed. Most recently, the Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma said it will claim the site, a former munitions site, and ask Secretary of Interior Gale Norton to take it into trust.
