The Nipmuc Nation of Massachusetts is postponing a vote on a change to its constitution in order to add about 100 people who were somehow left of the tribal rolls.

The tribe says the mistake was inadvertent. Some tribal members, however, have protested the policies of the current tribal council, whom they say do not represent the tribe and have placed certain members on "inactive" status.

The tribe's federal recognition status is on review pending approval by the Bush administration.
