Towns still want Pequot meeting

SEPTEMBER 13, 2000 The leaders of three Connecticut towns still want the Bureau of Indian Affairs to hold a second public meeting to discuss the federal recognition petitions of two Pequot tribes. But they said they would agree to informal meetings the BIA has been encouraging. The BIA recently told state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal that it would not hold another formal meeting. The BIA held a two-day meeting in August to discuss the tribes. Get the Story:
