Navajo know no election

The Navajo Nation went without its general election yesterday, leading the council to impose sanctions on election officials.

Citing voter confusion and a potential conflict of interest with the council, President Kelsey Begaye vetoed a council resolution calling for the election to be held August 1. But the council overrode his veto.
