JULY 20, 2000 Sally Ellyson, a producer for Court TV, told The New London Day that the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut turned down a live appearance on the progam "Pros & Cons" by tribal councilor Michael Thomas. Thomas was set to debate author Jeff Benedict on the nationally syndicated program but the tribe called to say he would not participate. In response, Benedict said he was not surprised the tribe cancelled. Ellyson said she would produce a show on the topic with or without the tribe. The show is hosted by Nancy Grace and airs weeknights at 6:00 PM EST. Ed Note: Indianz.Com will offer to Ellyson to debate Benedict on the allegations the book presents about Indian law and policy. Indianz.Com will not debate about genealogy of the tribe, however. Get the Story:
