THURSDAY, JULY 19, 2001 Former Assistant Secretary Kevin Gover and some of his former top aides are being investigated by the Department of Interior, a spokesperson for the Inspector General's office said on Wednesday. Although the Interior didn't specifically name who is being targeted, the focus is on Connecticut tribes. That would leave Gover, former Deputy Assistant Secretary Michael Anderson and Loretta Tuell, former director of the Office of American Indian Trust and a former special assistant to Gover, up for inquiry, since they participated in decisions officials in Connecticut have criticized. Complaints by members of Congress initiated the probe, said the Interior. The investigation began several months ago. Anderson and Tuell are now both employed at the Washington, DC, law firm of Monteau & Peebles. Gover is working for Steptoe & Johnson. Get the Story:
