FBI criticized for missing equipment

Senators on the Judiciary Committee on Wednesday criticized the FBI for not having adequate records keeping policies that have resulted in the loss of hundreds of firearms and laptops containing sensitive information.

In response to the missing equipment, Attorney General John Ashcroft has ordered his inspector general to conduct an inventory of all firearms, computers and other sensitive equipment throughout the Justice Department.
