JULY 18, 2000 Claudia Vigil-Muniz has been elected as president of the Jicarilla Apache Tribe of New Mexico, defeating incumbent Rodger T Vicenti 662 to 563. Lamavaya Caramillo beat incumbent Ronald Julian for the vice presidencey by a vote of 668-556. The election for tribal council will take place on Saturday, July 22. The tribe has 3,000 members. Their reservation in Northern New Mexico is 1,300 square miles. Get the Story:
