The Denver Post today quotes Interior Department spokesperson Stephanie Hanna as saying a stastistical sampling of the Individual Indian Money (IIM) accounts it not out of the question as Secretary Gale Norton moves to take more control of trust reform.

Indianz.Com reported on Tuesday the Norton has decided not to move forward with a sampling. Interior sources said Norton has "dropped" that directive, which was pushed through by the Clinton administration.

Instead, Norton has created a special office that will report directly to her on how best to conduct a full, historical accounting of the fund owed to an estimated 300,000 American Indians throughout the country.
