A federal judge in Nebraska on Friday dismissed the Omaha Tribe's lawsuit against the Winnebago Tribe.

The Omaha Tribe invoked a provision in an 1865 treaty seeking to regain land sold to the Winnebago Tribe. But the judge said the Winnebago were immune from lawsuit.

Omaha officials initiated the lawsuit after years of feeling ignored by the government. The final straw came when the Indian Health Service agreed to locate a hospital on the Winnebago Reservation instead of the Omaha one.
