Is the town of Whiteclay, Nebraska, rightfully part of the Pine Ridge Reservation? Former Senator James G. Abourezk of South Dakota says yes.

Abourezk plans to file a lawsuit seeking to declare a 1904 land transfer illegal. The transfer allowed the land to be bought by non-Indians, he said, who later sprouted the liquor community of Whiteclay.
