ADVANCE: Supreme Court strikes down Navajo Nation tax

MAY 29, 2001 Overturning an appeals court decision, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled today that the Navajo Nation cannot impose a tax on non-Indian customers who frequent businesses owned by a non-Indian. The ruling is expected to have an effect on tribes throughout Indian Country. Get the Decision:
