Two former members of the Kickapoo tribal council face fines if they continue to misrepresent themselves as leaders of the Kansas tribe.

Steve Cadue and Thelma Simon have already been fined by the Kickapoo Tribal Court for letters they wrote, including one to Attorney General Janet Reno. They were ordered to stop using their titles on March 21.

In addition to a $200 fine for Simon and a $400 fine for Cadue, the court has imposed a fine of $25 a day until both appear before the Court to apologize for their actions. The Court also has imposed another $1,000 fine for each additional violation of the March order.
