Tribe may sue Minnesota

A central Minnesota tribe is threatening suit against the state of Minnesota. The Prairie Island Mdewakanton Dakota Tribe wants the state legislature to amend a bill currently on the House floor in order to prevent the construction of a $100 million power plant fired primarily by turkey manure. The tribe believes its 1994 agreement with the Northern States Power Company has been breached by the House's decision to amend the state's definition of biomass to include the animal waste.
