Survey shows opposition to recognition

MARCH 29, 2001 Connecticut State Representative Diana Urban (R-North Stonington) recently sent out a survery to 8,180 people in her district and said the results show support for challenging the federal recognition process. Urban says she received a large number of responses, but The New London Day does not report how many of if Urban disclosed how many. Out of that unknown, alleged large number of responses, approximately 86 perecnet want the state to continue questioning the federal recognition process. Urban also said that she supports giving the Attorney General's office additional money to research recognition issues and will continue to support Richard Blumenthal's pursuit of this matter.
