State challenges trust land decision

JANUARY 31, 2001 The state of Nevada on Tuesday filed a lawsuit challenging the designation of a parcel of land in downtown Fallon as part of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone reservation. The state says the Bureau of Indian Affairs made the decision without their consent and they are challenging the process by which it was made. The site houses the tribe's gas station and convenience store. Get the Story:
