DECEMBER 13, 2000

The Crow Tribe of Montana on Saturday voted to reform its constitution, approving three major changes.

The first change extends the terms of office of the four elected tribal leaders from three years to four. The second requires voting at council meetings to be secret.

The third separates the powers of the tribe between the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the government.
