NOVEMBER 10, 2000 Three new Native Americans have been elected to the Montana Legislature, bringing the total of Indian lawmakers to six, considered to be a first for the state. Norma Bixby of Lame Deer, Joey Jayne or Arlee, and Gerald Peas of Lodge Grass were elected. They join the re-elected Bill Eggers of Crow Agency, Carol Juneau of Browning, and Frank Smith of Poplar.
