Shooting of Goshute chairman alleged

Federal authorities are holding two members of the Ibapah Goshute Tribe and a third man in Utah after an incident in which one allegedly attempted to shoot the tribal chairman.

Clel Pete, his brother, Robert, and another man allegedly went to the tribal headquarters after consuming liquor on Monday. Clel allegedly held a gun to the chest of chairman Milton Hooper and pulled the trigger but the gun jammed.

The two men are being held for resisting a federal law enforcement officer.
