The Senate on Tuesday approved a bill authorizing $75 million in grants to bring electricity to rural parts of the Navajo Nation.

The bill would extend electric transmission and distribution lines, provide money for the purchase and installation of gas turbines and wind and solar power systems. It also provides training for installation and use of equipment.

The House passed the bill earlier this month. The bill awaits Clinton's approval.
