Bush administration officials met with leaders of a group that temporarily ousted Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, The New York Times reports today.

Officials said the meetings occurred several times in recent months, with some officials saying the coalition was urged to take out Chávez though democratic means, But others said the Bush administration made it clear they didn't like Chávez.

The democratically-eleged Chávez was forced from office for two days after protests in the streets.
