APRIL 24, 2001 In a poll released on Monday, Alejandro Toledo leads Alan Garcia 39 percent to 32 percent in Peru's race for the Presidency. Some 29 percent say they are undecided. A run-off election will be held May 27 or June 3, depending on when the national elections board finishes counting up the votes from the April 8 election. No candidate won more than 50 percent of the vote. Toledo hopes to be the nation's first Indian leader in modern times. Get the Story:
